1 พระสังคีนี : Dhammasangani  : Enumeration of Phenomena.

Kusalā dhammā,                                                           Phenomena which are wholesome,

Akusalā dhammā,                                                        Phenomena which are unwholesome,

Abyākatā dhammā,                                                     phenomena which are indeterminate

                                                                                                (neither kammically wholesome nor

                                                                                                Unwholesome);

Katame dhammā kusalā?                                        Which are wholesome?

Yasmiṃ samaye,                                                          when?

Kāmāvacaraṃ kusalaṃ cittaṃ uppannaṃ     Consciousness pertaining to the

Hoti somanassasahagataṃ                                    Sense-sphere accompanied by

Ñānasampayuttaṃ,                                                     pleasure, and associated with

                                                                                                knowledge,

rūpārammanaṃ vā,                                                      arises with any object such as the

                                                                                                visible object,

saddārammanaṃ vā,                                                  sound object,

gandhārammanaṃ vā,                                                               odour object,

rasārammanaṃ vā,                                                      taste object,

photthabbārammanaṃ vā,                                       body-impression object and

dhamārammanaṃ vā                                                  mental object,

yaṃ yaṃ vā panarabbha,                                         The Sens-impression

tasmiṅ samaye phasso hoti,                                 and Restlessness

avikkhepo hoti,                                                                           in that time, besides other phenomena

ye vā pana tasmiṃ samaye aññepi atthi                      are physical phenomena depend on each

paṭicca samuppanna arūpino dhammā,                           other arising.

Ime dhammā kusalā.,                                                                These phenomena are wholesome.
