10 ระตะนะสูตร :
Ratama Sutta : Discourse on Treasure Gem.
1. Yanīdha bhūtāni samāgatāni,
Bhummāni va yaniva antalikkhe,
Sabbeva bhutā sumanā bhavantu,
Athopi sakkacca sunantu bhasitaṃ.
Whatever beings are gathered here,Whether terrestrial, or celestial,Aide ye, beings all, with loving hearts,And listen carefully to these words.
2. Tasmā hi bhūtā nisametha sabbe,
Mettaṃ karotha manusiyā pajāya, ,
Divā ca ratto ca haranti ye baliṃ,
Tasmā hi ne rakkhattha appamattā.
Pay heed, then, ye beings all,how loving kindness to human beings Day and night, they bring thee offerings,to protect them ever with diligence.
3. Yaṃ kiñci vittaṃ idha vā, huraṃ vā,
Saggesu vā yaṃ ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Na no samaṃ atti Tathāgatena,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!.
whatever treasure there be in this or other world, Whatever precious jewel there be in the heavens, there is nothing To equal the Truth-Bearer,This is the Excelling quality, in the Buddha, By this Assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
4. Khayaṃ viragaṃ amataṃ panītaṃ,
Yadajjhagā Sakyamunī samāhito,
Na tena dhammena samatthi kiñci,
Edampi Dhamme ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!
he exhaustion of defilements,The passion-free, deathless, highest state,which the tranquil Sakyan sage realized,here is nothing to equal that Supreme State. This is the excelling quality, in the dhamma. By this assertion of truth, may Well-being prevail!
5. Yam Buddha-settho parivannayī suciṃ,
Samādhi manantarikaññamāhu,
Samādhinā tena samo na vijjati,
Idampi Dhamme ratanaṃ paniīaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatti hotu!
The Supreme Sanctity, which the Buddha extolled, As transcendental Uninterrupted ecstasy, Noting equal that blissful spiritual absorption, This is he excelling quality in the Dhamma,By this assertion of truth, may well-Being prevail!
6. Ye puggalā attha sataṃ pasatthā,
Cattāri etani yugani honti,
Te dakkhineyya sugatassa savakā,
Etesu dinnāni mahapphalāni,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etene saccena suvatthi hotu!
The Supreme Sage extolled eight saintly individuals, who form the four-pairs of Sanctified Seers, They are Exalted One’s disciples, worthy of offerings, Offerings made to them yield abundant fruits, This Is the excelling quality in the Sangha,By this assertion of truth, may Well-being prevail!
7. Ye suppayuttā manasā dalhena,
Nikkāmino Gotamasāsanamhi,
Te pattipattā amataṃ vigayha,
Laddhā mudhā nibutiṃ bhuñjamānā,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!
Fully committed with a steadfast mind,they have, Gone beyond passion in Gotama’s Dispensation, Having plunged into the deathless, Partaking of ultimate peace won by excellence, They have Reached the Highest state, This is the Excelling quality in the Sangha, By this Assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
8. Yathindakhīlo pathavim sito siyā,
Catubbhi vātehi asampakampiyo,
Tathūpamaṃ sappurisaṃ vadāmi,
Yo ariya-saccani avecca passati,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!
As a votive column, sunk deep in earth,Remains unshaken by the four winds,Even so, is the Holy One, I declare,Who dwells ever-seeing the Noble-Truths;This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,By this assertion of truth, may Well-being prevail!
9. Ye ariyā saccāni vibhavayanti,
Gambhīra paññena sudesitāni,
Kiñcāpi te honti bhusappamattā,
Na te bhavam aṭṭhamaṃ ādiyanti,
Idampi Saṅghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etene saccena suvatthi hotu!
Those who have actualized the Noble Truths,Well expounded by Him, of profound wisdom,Even if they have not been ever so mindful,They never are reborn more than seven times,This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,By this assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
10. Sahavassa dassana-sampadāya,
Tayassu dhamma jahitā bhavanti,
Sakkayaditthi vicikicchitanca,
Silabbataṃ vāpi yadaṭṭhi kiñci,
Catuhapayehi ca vippamutto,
Cha cabhiṭhānāni abhabbo kātuṃ,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!
One who has gained the Supreme Vision,For him these three fetters have been uprooted,Self-illusion, skeptical doubt and superstitious,adherence to rules and rituals,Wholly freed from the four states of woe,He is incapable of committing six heinous crimes,This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,By the assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
11. Kiñcāpi so kammaṃ karoti pāpakaṃ,
Kayena vaca uda cetasā vā,
Abbhabbo so tassa paticchadāya,
Abhabbata diṭṭha padassa vuttā,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvathi hotu!
Whatever wrong he might commit,Whether by deed, word or thought,He is incapable of concealing it,Impossible to do so, it is said,Being endowed with Vision of the Supermundane,This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,By this assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
12. Vanappagumbe yaṭhā phussitagge,
Gimhānamase paṭhamassmiṃ gimhe,
Tathūpamaṃ dhammavaraṃ adesayi,
Nibbānagāmiṃ paramaṃ hitāya,
Idampi Buddhe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etene saccena suvatthi hotu!
Just as the forest groves, in spring time,Burst forth in blossoms of myriad hues,Even so, did he teach the Sublime Dhamma,Leading to Nibbana, for the highest good,This is the excelling quality in the Buddha,By this assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
13. Varo varaññū varado varāharo,
Anuttaro Dhamma varaṃ adesayi,
Idampi Buddhe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etene saccena suvatthi hotu!
Having gained the highest of Excellence, he is the knower, Giver and Bringer of Supreme Excellence, Being ever the Un-Excellent One,He expounded the most Excellent Teaching. This is the excelling quality of the Buddha,By this assertion of truth, may well-being Prevail!
14. Khīnaṃ pūrānaṃ natthi sambhavaṃ,
Virattacittā āyatike bhavasmiṃ,
Te khinabījā avirulhicchandā,
Nibbanti dhīrā yaṭhā yam padīpo,
Idampi Sanghe ratanaṃ panītaṃ,
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu!
With the past kammas fully wiped out,And no possibility of fresh accumulations,Their minds are severed from future rebirths;Desire-free, sprout no more like a burnt-up seed;These Wise Ones like a blown-out lamp, cease to be,This is the excelling quality of the Sangha,By this assertion of truth, may well-being prevail!
15. Yanidha bhūtāni samagatāni,
Bhummani vā yāni va antalikkhe,
Tathāgataṃ deva-manussa-pujitaṃ,
Buddhaṃ, namassama suvatthi hotu!
Whatever beings are gathered here, whether Terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is worshipped by divine and human beings,Let us worship, the Supremely Enlightened One,May by this act well-being prevail!
16. Yānidha bhūtāni samāgatāni,
Bhūmmani vā yāni va antalikkhe,
Taṭhāgataṃ deva-manussa-pujitaṃ,
Dhammam namassama suvatthi hotu!
Whatever beings are gathered here, whether terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is worshipped by divine and human beings,Let us worship, the Sacred Teaching of the Buddha, May by this act well-being prevail!
17. Yānitha bhūtāni samāgatāni,
Bhummāni vā yāni va antalikkhe,
Taṭhāgataṃ deva-manussa-pūjitaṃ,
Sanghaṃ namassama suvatthi hotu!
Whatever beings are gathered here, whether terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is worshipped by divine and human beings,Let us worship, the Holy-Order of the Buddha,May by this act well-being prevail!
