Ceasing of Revenge

Ceasing of Revenge

Na hi verena verāni
sammantīdha kudācanaṃ
Averena ca sammanti
esa dhammo sanantano

Hatred is never appeased by hatred
in this world. By non-hatred alone
is hatred appeased. This is a law eternal.

(For Revenged does not cease
by revenged at any time:
Revenged ceases by not to revenge,
this is the common law)

Shadow of Mind

Shadow of Mind

Manopubbaṅgamā dhammā manoseṭṭhā manomayā
Manasā ce pasannena bhāsati vā karoti vā
Tato naṃ sukhamanveti chāyā'va anupāyinī.

Mind precedes all mental states.
Mind is their chief; they are all
mind-wrought. If with a pure mind
a person speaks or acts happiness
follows him like his never-departing shadow.

Mind is the chieft

Mind is the chieft

Manopubbanggamà dhammà
manosetthà manomayà
manasà ce padutthena
bhàsati và karoti và
tato nang dukkhamanveti
cakkang’va vahato padang

Mind precedes all mental states.
Mind is their chief; they are all
mind-wrought. If with an impure
mind a person speaks or acts
suffering follows him like the wheel
that follows the foot of the ox.

Mind/forunner

Mind/forunner

All mental phenomena have Mind as their forerunner
in the sense that Mind is the most dominant, and it is
the cause of the other three mental phenomena, namely,

1 Feeling (vedana),
2 Perception (sanna)
3 Mental Formations or Mental Concomitants (sankhara).

These three have Mind or Consciousness (vinnana) as their
forerunner, because although they arise simultaneously
with Mind they cannot arise if Mind does not arise.

Mind the great/leader

Mind  the great/leader

Manopubbangama dhamma
manosettha manomaya
manasa ce padutthena
bhasati va karoti va
tato nam dukkhamanveti
cakkamva vahato padam.

 All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner;
they have mind as their chief; they are mind-made.
If one speaks or acts with an evil mind, 'dukkha'
follows him just as the wheel follows
the hoofprint of the ox that draws the cart.

The benefit of stop killing

  2. great is his compassion towards to all sentient beings
  3. he gives up forever wrathful passions and such-like habits
  4. Being always free from illness
  5. Being live long
  6. Being constantly protected by non-human beings
  7. Being never troubled by nightmares
  8. links of enmity are cut off and all hatreds against him vanish themselves
  9. freeing from care of being born in an evil existence
  10. After death will go to the deva world
